What are you going to do?

As post-sorter at the sorting location in Amsterdam, you play a crucial role in ensuring that all mail ends up in the right place. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for sorting the mail, bundling it, and placing it in order in the mailbags for our postmen. Thanks to your orderly approach, our postmen can deliver the mail accurately and on time.

We understand all too well that you want to know whether working as a post-sorter at PostNL is what you are looking for. That is why we always start with a paid introduction in the form of a training programme. In addition to getting a good impression of what the job entails, you will immediately receive help from a colleague. This will allow you to master the systems and working methods in no time.

What are the working days and hours?

Working days are in the morning from Tuesday to Saturday. Working hours are from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. or from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.

What do you need to get started?

All mail delivered to your home starts with an post-sorter. It's a challenging job where accuracy is crucial. Together with the postmen, the post-sorters ensure that the whole of Amsterdam receives its mail on time. It's a fun challenge as a side job alongside your studies or as a new part-time/full-time job. Anything is possible at PostNL, but do you have the following skills and characteristics? 

  • Minimum age of 18;
  • Availability on the requested working days and times (Tuesday to Saturday);
  • Accuracy and focus during work;
  • Keeping a cool head in busy situations;
  • Perseverance until the work is completely finished;
  • Good command of the Dutch and/or English language;

What do you get in return?

  • Paid weekly;
  • A good salary starting at €14.40 per hour;
  • 20% bonus on hourly wages between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.;
  • Every month, you have a chance to win €100 as employee of the month!;
  • Holiday pay in May (8% of gross salary) + 10% holiday allowance;
  • Receive a travel allowance + a pension contribution;
  • You can decide for yourself which shifts you want to work each week. A fixed schedule is also possible;
  • You will be paid for any extra hours worked. You can also save them up and take them later as days off.
